I can't get over the sheer number of times you've blasted through this record. Nice work -- and you're our RecordSetter of the Day on Facebook & Twitter!

  • France Guillaume Bourgeois

And this record is on a hard floor. And it is straight. If he were in a minute, it would have exceeded the 59 push ups by Doug Pruden. Ioseb secontes 47 passes for 55 push ups. This leaves it more than 12 seconds to perform additional 5 push ups. For me, Ioseb is stronger than Doug Pruden on the minute.

Every record certifying organizations has it's own record data for each categories. This record was attempted according with RecordSetter's rules, so it is an official RecordSetter world record.

I copied this from Guinness. guinnessworldrecords. Hi there, thanks for your suggestion, however I'm afraid this does not beat our current record in this category:

The most push-ups with one arm using the back of the hand in one minute is 59 and was set by Doug Pruden (Canada) at West Edmonton Mall, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on 24 March 2007.

    And the feeling is mutual

Thanks Guillaume, it is pleasure to competition with such record holder as you are!

  • France Guillaume Bourgeois

    Very Strong Ioseb. Congratulations.

I tried resubmit my record video, but it's impossible. When hit the "Youtube" button it didn't open the window where I must drop Youtube URL of my record video. Please check this option and help me to submit my record.

Hey Ioseb. Why don't you go ahead and hit the "break it" button on this page and resubmit the video. Sorry that you had trouble!

  • Georgia Ioseb Khutsishvili

Hello there, A few days ago I set the record for the most consecutive one armed back of hand push-ups and tried to upload this record video, but before complete uploading the internet turned off and my video did not uploaded fully. Despite this, my attempt had moved to Pending folder. Now I want to submit full video but it is impossible. Can someone help me?

Guillaume, my FaceBook name is Sisu Suomensukuinen (it's Finnish) It means to win against all odds, and to be of Finnish origin (more or less).

Are you from Italy, cause Guinness wants to fly me down there for mid April for their Guinness show?

  • Canada Darryl Learie

Congratulations Guillaume, on breaking my record - I know this record to be awkwardly painful, it is one I have never looked forward to myself - we should connect my friend, perhaps on FaceBook - I can introduce you to some world champions in the push-up ;) Cheers, Darryl

Guillaume I see you breaking alot of records?I'm waiting on you to create a record that I can break.Good job!You look like you can be mine adversary lol

  • France Guillaume Bourgeois

David, thank you Ioseb. Next time I will try this record I will go down over my push ups. I saw on internet videos of Ioseb record. very impressive.

  • Georgia David Begiashvili

Guillaume, Ioseb congratulations you the new record, but he thinks that your attempt does not agree with RecordSetter push-up criteria and the elbows are not bent with 90 degrees at the base of the push-up.

  • Canada Dan Rollman

Wow, Ioseb is impressive. I hope he submits a new attempt on concrete -- will be interesting to watch this rivalry develop.

  • The Internet Rob Birdsong

Darryl - noted, we have denied this attempt and ask that Ioseb re-submit a new attempt on concrete.

  • Canada Darryl Learie

I don't wish to be the bearer of bad news but the rules dictate this must be performed on a concrete surface (no mats).

  • Philippines Nikki Cuaton

Ioseb, congratulation to your new record, but I think you execute the push-ups in a some what a little different the way Darryl made his original record...

  • United States Derrick Clark

I will be going after this record soon! I'm starting to get used to the pain stuff!

  • Canada Darryl Learie

Thank-you, Derrick - my original inspiration knowing I didn't have enough stamina to compete with the push-up elite's was to raise the bar in terms of criteria - as they were push-up'ing on matts. So my only hope really was to inspire an exercise on a more challenging plane.

All else aside I find this exercise very uncomfortably painfull - the only exercise I find more painfull is my most one-arms on a steak knife blade.

Some say I have a high pain thresh-hold, personally I don't think I do - I just know if a record is within everyone's comfort zone - it will be broken a hundred times over - so it seemed reasonable to mix strength/stamina with pain to lessen the competition.

Thank-you Nikki, I achieved it just after my traing of the day - when I was most unhappy about how my traing went - I was tired and feeling weak - first I did just 2, than thought to myself - Shaun would not be happy with stooping prematurely so why should I.

  • United States Derrick Clark

On concrete will hurt a bit! Nice one!

  • Philippines Nikki Cuaton

Nice one DarryL!...(oh yeah!).. hehehe.. Can't imagine myself doing this one!..double thumbsUP!...

  • United States Alex Cunningham

Just did 12. By that I mean I did 1, then went back and did 2. Super props to your strength!

  • Canada Darryl Learie

Thank-you, Dan - I have to admit this hurt me, more than it hurt you (lol) Just Kidding, but yeah this one tends to hurt a lot.

  • Canada Dan Rollman

Extremely impressive. Darryl, you're getting buff!
