Most Bench Press Repetitions Using A 45-Pound Bar

Christian Phung

Christian Phung bench pressed an empty 45-pound Olympic bar 334 times in a row on a flat bench in his home gym in Aldie, Virginia, lowering it to his chest and locking out his arms on every rep. Before the set he showed the bar and measured it with a tape, then pressed for seven and a half minutes without racking it, resting only at lockout and never for more than about four seconds. RecordSetter counted the reps from the original, unedited phone recording of the whole session. He opened at close to a rep a second and slowed to about one every two seconds by the end, but the bar stayed in his hands until the last rep.
