Yes there are some general standards but they tend to vary depending on the organization. An example would be weightlifting, powerlifting and strongman all have different classes and the classes are almost always in kilos, which make for some odd numbers in pounds. Personally, I would like to see increments such as 10 lbs or 25 increments in body weight for Recordsetter World Records. This could make for some serious fun and competition. On this record I would adjust it to Athlete under 250 lbs. Hope this helps!

Thanks for that, Clint -- the record will be adjusted.

      You're welcome.

I agree to Clint's proposal. Make it to where the athlete has to be equal or less bodyweight and tie & or beat the current record. That way the strength to bodyweight equally could be equal measured..

ratio could be equally measured I mean.

Excellent suggestion, Jason. Clint, how do you feel about adding the "equal or lighter weight" criteria?

    • United States Clint Poore

Jenn I am fine with that, but I thought that was implied by weighing less than 250 lbs.

A very good point. How do you feel about adding criteria about including proof of the athlete's weight, in order to keep future submissions fair?

    • United States Clint Poore

I'm fine with that, if you have seen my videos my weight has fluctuated from under 210 to right now it is 229. Proof of bodyweight is a possible idea.

That's damn good lifting your doing 229Lbs. Too. I weight 312

Clint, are there general standards in the weightlifting community? Feels a bit random to add an element like "athlete under 246 pounds" to the title.

Not bad for a youngster, keep it up. I need someone to challenge my records one year.

Can you confirm if this was a raw lift? Thanks!
