About

Pleven, Bulgaria / August 25, 2026

Daniel Tochev grips the middle of a loaded barbell with his right hand in a living room in Pleven, Bulgaria, pulls it to a standing lockout and holds it clear of the floor for several seconds, flashing a victory sign with his free hand. He then strips the bar and weighs every plate together with the bar on a platform scale, which reads 156.30 kilograms, before stepping onto the same scale himself at 61.8 kilograms. That's about two and a half times his bodyweight, on one hand.
