I’m pretty sure you have to say the name of the person who last beat the record

  • United States Tai Star

impressive but only two pencils per story.

    • United States Hiram Bertoch

Just pointing out that the reply to this is below...

  • United States Tai Star

maybe this could be a different category.

if your gonna work this hard for a record be sure to check the rules.

    • United States Tai Star

disregard this comment I take it back

  • United States Hiram Bertoch

Also overlooked the other questions. There are multiple towers side by side, but each only has two pencils per story.

    • United States Tai Star

oh, cool. it looks like one big structure .

  • United States Hiram Bertoch

Just a note to Tai Star, that the pencils are not touching the wall. They are just very close to the wall. I (their science teacher) have verified this. They built near the wall as a guide to keep it straight.

    • United States Tai Star

awesome I would love to see that if possible.

  • United States Tai Star

Super Awesome, however; I have to point out the rules are not followed. 1st only two pencils permitted per story, 2nd building against the wall would count as external support.

Thanks everyone for the comments! me and my friend really appreciate it. We decided to break this record because our english teacher wanted us to break a record using an eglish based item so thats why we picked pencils. I am not sure what record i will breack next but i will try to break another one as soon as possible!!!

  • United States Emily Patricia

We're very happy for her! What record will you break next!?

  • United States Simon Kirk

This is great. What inspired you to beat this and how long did it take?

By the way, if you want to get some fame, you can get this on to our homepage. All you need to do is get votes. People can either click the Awesome button on this page, or they vote it up on the homepage (there's an upvote button). The more votes it gets, the higher it goes.

    Very impressive.

  • United States Dan Leatherman

    Wow, great job!

  • Australia Peter Craig

Well I think this pencil tower still stands as a record for "Tallest Pencil Tower" under the variation / criteria of two pencils per story. Not sure how you'd word this as a title, the other variation is using any configuration/number of pencils choice which would better suit the records listed.

  • Canada Dan Rollman

Nice find, Peter. Let's add that video and make Dan's submission a fail.

  • Australia Peter Craig

Good job Dan... was going to try and beat it until I saw these ones... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gw74fqHPpA and http://www.graniteschools.org/jr/eisenhower/pencil_tower.html
