As james has proven it can be done, however i did it the stupid way by just looping a PHP script to my mediatemple server, what's the point in cheating really? And i don't even have the record any more. Not sure if mediatemple compressed the db or anything else or perhaps the setup differs, I'm not sure but it showed 6.5GB in PHPmyadmin.

    Denis, comments on James' point?

No way that could be possible, mine was 80GB+ big, not 6.5GB. I had my computer say that I'm running out of disk space and all... All you did was right click->Inspect Element and edited. And here is proof you can do that. http://mrgeckosmedia.net/grab/1121db40a297fc613c139a826b40a4f1.PNG

  • I had a backup of 1 billion ready to go, but 10 billion, hats off, awesome.

Just for fun, I inserted 6,203,538,627 rows into a single table using SQL Server 2005. I could have easily added more if I had a bigger hard drive.

  • Heya coreyh, this is a MySQL server(5.1.26-rc) hosted at mediatemple.net. This perticular database is only used for this as an experiment. It's only populated by 1's.

I'd like to know more about this. What type of database is this? Is this being used in production or was this just an experiment?
