Dan LaCroix completed 230 high steps in one minute, a new world record. Each high-step was defined as quot;the raising of a leg to hit one’s palm at waist level.quot; LaCroix completed the feat on May 17, 2009 in Fairfax, Virginia. Noah Zimmerman was present as a witness.

Opus Moreschi made a ShamWow cocktail in 28.52 seconds, a new world record. He poured all the liquid ingredients of a Manhattan into a ShamWow, and then squeezed the towel into a glass. Timing stopped when the final ingredient, a maraschino cherry, was placed in the drink. Moreschi termed the resulting cocktail a “Shamhattan.” Moreschi set the record on May 20, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society[] event in New York City. Sean Welsh completed 131 finger-ups while wearing a 30 gram finger weight in 30 seconds, a new world record. Welsh wore the 30 gram weight between the first and middle knuckle on his right index finger. The record was set on June 18, 2009 in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Monica Welsh was present as a witness.

Taylor Jones named 35 Black Eyed Peas songs in 20 seconds, a new world record. Songs named included ‘Don’t Bring Me Down’, ‘Let’s Get It Started’, and ‘Pump It Up’. Jones set the record on June 27, 2009 in Miami, Florida. Ricky Jones was present as a witness.

Lane George sent a text message using a first generation iPhone in 2.5 seconds, a new world record. George set the record on June 27, 2009 in Woodstock, Georgia. Kristin Grecco was present as a witness.

Brian Jay walked through a gate and latched it 12 times in 30 seconds a new world record. He passed throught the gate 13 times, but failed to make a complete latch once. Jay set the record on June 28, 2009 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Justin Kay was present as a witness.

Dany Majard completed a 20-foot Double Pedalo ride in 3.03 seconds.

Alex Young popped 71 bubble wrap bubbles in 15 seconds. Young set the record on October 2, 2009 in New York City during the taping of a URDB segment on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson served as witnesses. tag:JF03, tag:lnwjf

Nadine Civitello gave 15 people surprise high fives at the Kansas City Juggling Festival[]. The 16th person high fived was the cameraman and was not counted.

Sam Klarich, Abby, Brittani, and Emily each read the first four limericks of John Ciardi’s The Hopeful Trout And Other Limericks[] in a combined two minutes, 18.92 seconds. The four limericks they read were The Elephant Boy, Goodbye Please, The Thingamajig and Keeping Busy Is Better Than Nothing.

Art Hoffman completed a 1/4 mile racewalk with his dog Chenji in two minutes, 17.08 seconds. Chenji is a Swahilian name.

Mark Lamster complained to a deli waiter eight times in 30 seconds. He delivered 12 complaints but the last four were not within the designated time. Lamster accomplished the feat on October 18, 2009 at Ben’s Deli during a book release party for David Sax’s Save The Deli. Officials from RecordSetter.com were on hand to document the record. #SD01
