Ed Draper named 12 current internationally recognized sporting world champions during an 8-floor elevator ride. Draper set the record at theAbsolute Radio studios in London.

Mallory Wolchuk played ’Scotland The Brave’ on bagpipes in 52.22 seconds while standing next to Doug McManaman, who balanced a Canadian flag on his chin for the entire record.

Emily Wilson[] sharpened five completely unsharpened pencils in one minute, a new world record. To confirm that the pencils were sufficiently sharp, Wilson successfully popped balloons with each one when the minute was complete. The feat was achieved on November 24, 2008 at the World Record Appreciation Society’s first-ever event. It took place at Asia Roma[], a karaoke bar in New York City. Event organizers Corey Henderson and Dan Rollman were on hand to witness and document the achievement.

Eric Iverson unzips his jacket pocket, pulls out his Blackberry smartphone and returns it to pocket in 01.62 seconds, a new world record. The record was set on January 31, 2009 at Iverson’s home in Munising, Michigan. William Biver was present to time and witness the record.

Jake Bronstein completes five “Hey”/“Ho” call and responses with an audience in 2.96 seconds, a new world record. This was one of four feats he pulled off en route to setting the mark for Most World Records Set In One Minute[]. Bronstein set the record on March 25, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society[] event held at Pianos in New York City. Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson were present as witnesses. [#WRAS05][]

Ibrahim Earth Angel rapped 206 words in 30 seconds. He set the the record on August 29, 2008 at the Burning Man festival in Black Rock City, Nevada. Lucy Smith and Sophia Lipkin ink stamp the entire English alphabet in one minute and 56.32 seconds, a new world record. The letters were stamped in alphabetical order. The girls performed the feat on April 4, 2009 at the first annual Brooklyn World Record Day in Brooklyn, New York. The event was held by URDB in conjunction with Beam Camp. Dan LaCroix completed 230 high steps in one minute, a new world record. Each high-step was defined as quot;the raising of a leg to hit one’s palm at waist level.quot; LaCroix completed the feat on May 17, 2009 in Fairfax, Virginia. Noah Zimmerman was present as a witness.

Opus Moreschi made a ShamWow cocktail in 28.52 seconds, a new world record. He poured all the liquid ingredients of a Manhattan into a ShamWow, and then squeezed the towel into a glass. Timing stopped when the final ingredient, a maraschino cherry, was placed in the drink. Moreschi termed the resulting cocktail a “Shamhattan.” Moreschi set the record on May 20, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society[] event in New York City.
