In honor of the Special Olympics campaign "Spread the Word to End the Word," 92 members of the National Junior Honor Society at Monroe Middle School in Monroe, Michigan sent a total of 1,636 text messages to their friends and families in five minutes.

- group must be no larger than 92 people
- message may be pre-written
- message must be longer than 65 words
- participants must send each text to both a personal contact and a special prepared e-mail address at the same time (this allows for the total texts sent to be tracked)
- must follow form of current world record holder
- must provide video evidence

    "Group" feels way too broad to define. Can we revise to "Most Text Messages Sent by 92 People in 5 Minutes"?

    Also, are you allowed to "cut and paste" the text? Are you allowed to keep texting the same person over and over?

    I'd love some color from an individual within the Monroe group.

      I think that the revised description is OK. The kids were allowed to cut and paste the message but were NOT allowed to text to the same person more than once. As far as color, do you mean comments from kids involved? If so, can I send along copy of two newspaper articles written about the event?
