Ken Somolinos kept a duct tape hacky sack aloft for 52.75 seconds.

Stride’s setting 100 records in 100 days. At the end of 100 days, we’ll verify if you are the standing Record Holder. If you are, you’ll get $500 for each record you managed to hold with your guile, talent, and sheer will.

General caution and common sense required. We show the Stride Team at work, but recommend that these challenges be done at home.

- hacky sack must be made entirely from duct tape
- hacky sack must be baseball—sized or smaller
- hacky sack may touch any part of body except hands and arms
- hacky sack may not touch any external surfaces (walls, floor, etc.)
- only one person may participate in attempt
- body may never stay in contact with hacky sack for more than one second

I looked at that time, and thought to myself...."why didn't I try that?" Then I watched Ken do it, and he definitely kept that hack aloft much longer than I would have ever been able to do it, so I apparently underestimated the time and difficulty. Excellent showing!

Great documentation Ken. Congrats on the record!

Neil: Thank you! My main hobby is freestyle footbag, aka advanced hackysack. Given how good you are at hack, I think you should give it a try too. Check out footbag dot org and modified dot in. That's a good starting point for finding players in your area, and getting good. Here's a video of footbag: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6YlRwnqq6k

You have now broken BOTH of my hacky sacking records!! How are you so good!?

Looks like just a gray ball to me. You already proved you cheat in the nose hair and blowing the pen over. I wouldn't doubt you did here. Jason at least showed that tape was used.

Actually none of the previous holders show that their ball was made of duct tape. Jason Sletten may have peeled a minuscule piece of tape off but that doesn't mean his entire ball was made of duct tape. My ball is 100% duct tape, you can be sure of that. Just look at it closely and you will be able to tell

Neil you did fine by me. Congrats! Go Illinois!

I don't think this video shows clearly that duct tape was the only material used, or if it was even used. The 22 second video does

  • The Internet Devin Ehrich

yeah neil doesnt show that the ball is duct tape like Jason did
