Ken Somolinos and two of his friends hacky sacked a crumpled 8–1/2" x 11" piece of paper for 53.96 seconds.

DENIED: Does not follow criteria applicable for this record.

Stride’s setting 100 records in 100 days. At the end of 100 days, we’ll verify if you are the standing Record Holder. If you are, you’ll get $500 for each record you managed to hold with your guile, talent, and sheer will.

General caution and common sense required. We show the Stride Team at work, but recommend that these challenges be done at home.

- piece of paper must be crumpled up
- all participants must touch hacky sack at least once, even though this isn't shown in original video
- may not touch hacky sack with arms or hands, even though this rule is broken in original video
- hacky sack may not touch anything other than participants' bodies
- must crumple paper on video at beginning of attempt or uncrumple paper on video at end of attempt to show proof of paper size

agreed! Ken, you guys should definitely submit some hack records and start up some new categories on the site. I saw your YT video 'in response' to a Chinese footbag video and I think it would be awesome to see you and other hackers going back and forth showing off your skills here on RS.com

Yeah Ken I would be interested to see you guys submit a record called "Longest time for 3 people to hacky sack" and just go for a really long time while doing cool moves

  • Canada Dan Rollman

Ken and friends, awesome. You should submit more hacky sack records to the site. Very impressive skills.

  • Canada Dan Rollman

Our decision stands. We haven't addressed music issues for well over two months.

  • The Internet Ken Somolinos

Can I just resubmit the video without sound then? Seems unfair to be penalized for this now, since the record was up for nearly a month before.

Despite the fact that you guys are awesome at hacky sacking, I have to agree with Taylor on this one. I myself had a video denied due to the music I had playing in the background

  • The Internet Taylor Charles

    Ken's* (I copy>pasted it for ease)

  • The Internet Taylor Charles

In Lindsey's Video there is definitely music in the background which is definitely against the rules. It clearly says that no copyrighted material may be allowed in the video and several other videos have been denied because of that exact reason. For fairness reasons you must treat this video as you have others. Otherwise, it is discriminatory.

What is that a 'jester' TWICE at the end? sick.

  • The Internet Zach Neal

Ken, the end of that 39 second session was awesome!

  • The Internet Ken Somolinos

I have video from the same session where we crumple the paper and use it. It's not as long, but should prove to you that it's the same technique. If you want to count only the shorter record which shows the crumple, that's fine, but I think it's poor form to change the requirements after the fact and then penalize us for it.

  • United States Rob Birdsong

Ken - we need to see your crumple the paper. Otherwise we're going to be forced to DENY this attempt.

  • United States Alyjha Williams

neil i think you guys might be hitting it too hard and dont have enough room try it again outside or somewhere spacey and try not to hit it too hard

  • Canada Dan Rollman

Ken Do you have a longer version of this video that shows evidence the paper you used was 8 1/2" x 11"? We need proof. For others, we've added "Must crumple paper on video at beginning of attempt or uncrumple paper on video at end of attempt to show proof of paper size."

Amazing! Great job guys! And if I'm not mistaken, the song playing is a strange remix of the famous Turtles song, correct?
