About

Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan / November 4, 2026

Hanzala Nazir films the bundles of Urdu magazines and journals stacked across his library floor in Faisalabad, Pakistan, then counts two of them aloud, turning each issue to show its cover: 40 in his smallest bundle and 122 in his biggest, which he has split into three stacks. Dates such as 2010, 2011 and 2015 flash by on the covers as the count climbs. He puts the whole collection at more than 1,700 issues from 1961 to 2020, and the record counts the 162 shown cover by cover on camera.
