About

Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan / November 3, 2026

Hanzala Nazir, 16, introduces himself in his library in Faisalabad, Pakistan, then swings the camera down to the Urdu magazines spread across his carpet, many of them issues of the weekly Ahl-e-Hadith. Working through three bundles one issue at a time, he reads the 2017 date off each cover and shows the paper up close to make the point that these are original printed issues, not copies. He gives the total of 37 on camera, a count the issues shown are consistent with. Every one dates from 2017, so the stack doubles as a full year of Urdu reading kept in print.
