At an "unplugged" party sponsored by Reboot, 147 people turned off their cell phones at the same time. The record, set during the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, created attention about the National Day of Unplugging.

- all participants must be in the same geographic location
- all phones must turned off within a 15-second window
- all phones must remain off for at least three minutes
- must follow form of current world record holder
- must provide video evidence
