Twelve librarians from the New Jersey Library Association rode the El Toro roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey.

They set the record to break the stereotype that librarians are introverted and timid shushers and to help foster a better understanding of what librarians are like.

- must be employed professionally as a librarian
- roller coaster must be considered an “adult” roller coaster; no kiddie or mouse coasters permitted
- participants must all ride at the same time
- library students may participate but may not account for more than 25% of the total number of librarians
- must provide video evidence

Awesome, awesome record and video. The "library student" rule feels a bit arbitrary, however. Shouldn't we be counting full-fledged librarians only?

Thanks! We're proud of our new record! The library student rule is to encourage future librarians to participate. If need be, we could drop that rule. Our current record is based on librarians, so it wouldn't impact our total. Happy to be included on the site!
