At the opening of an Academy Sports + Outdoors store in Pearland, Texas, 122 participated in the Longest Football Hike Chain, a RecordSetter World Record.

- all participants must line up in a single file
- must use a fully inflated, regulation-sized American football 
- person at front of line must bend forward, holding football on ground
- at a designated time, all participants must simultaneously yell "Hut, Hut, Hike!"
- after the group yells, the first person will pass the football through their legs and into the hands of the person behind them
- the football will then be passed through the legs of all people in line in the same manner
- no participant may hold the football for more than five seconds
- if football is ever dropped by any participant, the attempt is denied
- the attempt is complete once the second-to-last person in line passes the ball to the final person ("the quarterback")
- must follow form of current world record holder
- must provide video evidence
