Paper World Records

Using a crowdful of volunteers to help him, Opus Moreschi had Post-It notes with a total of 356 unique adjectives written on them attached to his body. The most popular adjective attached was “douchey”, though duplicates weren’t counted. Moreschi set the record at a World Record Appreciation Society event held at Joe’s Pub in New York City. Matt Parker jumped over the hoods of two cars 9 times while barefoot, wearing a green blazer, and holding a paper mache seahorse. His tenth jump exceded the time limit.

This record was one of 14 records Peter Craig broke while setting the record for Most URDB World Records Broken In 10 Minutes.

Bhone K. made an origami crane one millimeter in length.

Russel Stokely constructs and launches seven paper airplanes in one minute, a new world record. He used standard construction paper to build the planes. Todd Lamb drew a person of someone with dwarfism measuring 10 feet, 8.25 inches in height. The illustration included boots with heels, but measurement was taken from the soles of the person's feet to the top of his head. Lamb completed the achievement on March 25, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society[] gathering in New York City. He drew using a Sharpie marker. Louis Hyde built 48 origami sonobes in a world record 57 minutes and 40 seconds. Hyde performed the feat on April 4, 2009 at the first annual Brooklyn World Record Day in Brooklyn, New York. The event was held by URDB in conjunction with Beam Camp. Corey Henderson was present as a witness. #BWRD01

Wieden Kennedy’s Team Dark flew 179 paper airplanes of the roof of their office building in 30 seconds. The record was set in Portland, Oregon on April 1, 2010 at the agency’s 28th annual Founders’ Dayparty.RecordSetter co-foundersDan Rollman and Corey Henderson were on hand to preside over the event. Louis Hyde built an origami tetrahedron 31" in height. Each side of the tetrahedron is 41.5" in height. Hyde built the piece on February 21, 2010 at the 2nd Annual Brooklyn World Record Day, an event hosted by RecordSetter in conjunction with Beam Camp as part of their Inventgenuity Festival #BWRD02**

Dominik K. shot 41 crumpled balls of papers into a trash can in one minute.

Brandon Boulton stacked 19 Dutch Bros coffee cups in a single tower.

Mike Wise and Jake Lorence threw a full-sized paper shredder 24 feet, 6 inches. The measurement was taken from the point of release to the location where the shredder landed.

Grettle A. made a paper crane in 45.98 seconds while wearing a gas mask.

Ella Morton folded a New York City subway map into a paper crane in one minute, 41.50 seconds. Morton set the record at a World Record Appreciation Society event held at Joe’s Pub in New York City.
