In homage to his love of food, Colin Nissan sets a new universal record by opening a can of Campbell’s Alphabet Soup and spelling out ‘PANTYHOSE’ in one minute, 25.77 seconds. Nissan set the record on January 7, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society event in New York City. He opened a standard size (10.5 ounces) pop top lid can, strained the letters, and then spelled out ‘PANTYHOSE’ using letters from the soup. Demonstrating his encyclopedic knowledge of Jewish delis, David Sax names 30 of them in just one minute, a new universal record. Sax showed tremendous focus while setting the record, ignoring an obnoxious heckler who kept yelling, “Carnegie!” He performed the feat on February 11, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society event held in New York City. Greg Roberts placed three Peeps on his sleeping baby in a stop-motion film, a new world record. For those interested in beating the record, Roberts insists the baby must be under the age of one and the Peeps must be uneaten. The record was set at Roberts’ San Diego home on March 13, 2009, with his baby Liam featured in the film. Jessica Roberts witnessed the feat.

Pavol Durdik stuck 70 toothpicks in a grapefruit in one minute.

Ryan Shannon balances 20 marshmallow Peeps on his iPhone, a new world record. The achievement took place on April 2, 2009 at Shannon’s office in Redwood City, California. Kevin Mullarkey was present to document the record and count the Peeps.

Competitive eater Takeru Kobayashi ate 25 Peeps in 30 seconds. He crushed his opponent Gavon Laessig, who only managed to eat four. The competition took place at BuzzFeed HQ in New York City, and was adjudicated by RecordSetter officials Corey Henderson and Emily Miethner. NOTE: Competitive eating is dangerous and should not be attempted unless you are professionally trained.

Ben Horine, Jason Judd and Doug Ross tossed a pierogi between themselves 91 times in one minute.

Steve Fester chicken pecked 50 goldfish crackers off a table in one minute. Goldfish that fell on the ground were not counted.

Taylor Priest spelled the word “BALL” using M & M’s in 15.28 seconds.

Ethan S. took 26 minutes, 17.18 seconds to eat a bowl of cereal.

Wyatt Accardi smushed 63 grapes with his hands in one minute, a new world record. To get an accurate count, 81 grapes were counted beforehand. When the minute was complete, 18 unsmushed grapes remained. Accardi performed the feat on April 4, 2009 at the first annual Brooklyn World Record Day in Brooklyn, New York.
