James Blekher attempted to lace up a sneaker but failed to complete the attempt. The sneaker had 12 holes and the standard “Criss Cross Lacing” technique was used.

The feat was achieved on July, 18, 2009 at the Pitchfork Music Festival[] in Chicago. Representatives from URDB.org were present to document the record.
