Knoxville, Tennessee, United States / November 12, 2022

Eastman has been a partner since day one of the University of Tennessee’s Good Sports Always Give Back program, helping bring recycling to UT’s campus. 2022 marked the 30-year anniversary of the Good Sports program and to celebrate, Eastman challenged all Tennessee Vol fans to set a world record for recycling on November 12th, when the Vols played the Missouri Tigers.

At the end of the day, a new world record was achieved with 38,452.2 pounds of waste reused or recycled. Every plastic, aluminum, and paper product dropped into the Good Sports Always Recycle recycling bins on campus and in Neyland Stadium helped Eastman and the University of Tennessee set the world record for the World’s Largest College Recycling Event. This record also included recycling cardboard, and wooden pallets, and repurposing food (via food banks or composting) involved in the setup, breakdown, and in-stadium concessions from game day.

- Must be a one-day event
- Material directly attributable to the event itself
- Collected within one week
