Beihu-Chenzhou-Hunan, SAR, China / October 18, 2026

Yanhao Deng of Chenzhou, Hunan, stood a steel padlock upright on its base in 1.08 seconds, starting with the lock lying on its back beside a smartwatch stopwatch. The clip shows the stopwatch started on camera, the padlock tipped onto its flat bottom with one hand, and the watch stopped at 00:01.08. RecordSetter checked that the lock stays standing on its own for about seven seconds after the stop, before it is picked up to show the keyhole underneath. Heavier than a battery, and quicker too.
