About

Valencia, Venezuela / August 29, 2026

Carlos Jaen took two quick steps across a mat in Valencia, Venezuela, launched into a jumping side kick and struck a crossbar 2.47 meters (about 8 feet 1 inch) off the ground, bursting the balloon rigged to it. The stand was measured on camera beforehand, with a tape measure run from the mat to the crossbar, and the kick was filmed from several angles while black belts in uniform looked on. Two steps of runway, and the balloon never stood a chance.
