Group World Records

The Benevolent Citizens Project, a social enterprise in Denver, Colorado, held a Connect Four tournament on February 3, 2011 that featured 104 participants.Each participant paid an entry fee which went to a local non-profit organization.

Alanna Iverson and 51 other cyclists danced the robotwhile wrapped in Christmas lights. The participants were a group of cyclists on a long distance bike ride to raise money for cancer research.

At a World Record Appreciation Society event held at Joe’s Pub in New York City, Tony DeLois took word suggestions from the audience to fill in a game of Mad Libs. His mother then read the resulting story aloud. The whole process took two minutes and 22.55 seconds. 55 members of Texas 4000 each beat up a “cancer balloon.” They set the record as part of LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance’s Break Cancer campaign.

Emily Peterson and 32 of her friends each crushed an aluminum can for cancer.

20 fifth grade students from Los Ranchitos Elementary School said “Happy Thanksgiving” at once.

23 people gathered on November 15, 2010 to discuss adolescent and young adult cancer patients and families in and around Portland, Oregon. At the end of the meeting everyone said“Rompe el cancer” at once. The gathering was hosted by the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute Adolescent[] and Young Adult Oncology Program and the External Advisory Committee. The 23rd person to participate in this world record was the cameraman.

On November 24, 2010, Lorna Larsen, president of Team Shan, presented to 450 students at the University of Western Ontario. Following the lecture, she inspired the entire room to say, “Team Shan Breast Cancer Awareness for Young Women” at the same time.
