Break Cancer World Records  

Chris Carraba of Dashboard Confessional performed a concert on top of Pikes Peak Mountain in Colorado at 14,111 feet above sea level. The concert was performed to raise funds for The Love Hope Strength Foundation.

The Nurse Oncology Education Program nurses at Dallas, Texas gave each other a total of 232 high-fives in recognition of quality cancer care as part of the Break Cancer initiative.

A total of 20 people simultaneously spoke the words "Break Cancer" upon completing a marathon and half-marathon. They set the record as part of Team Shan Breast Cancer Awareness for Young Women activities during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Ontario, Canada.

Members of the Nurse Oncology Education Program Steering Committee stomped on the word “Cancer.” In total, 240 toes stepped on the word.

Christine Baze, a cervical cancer survivor, wore 166 “smiling cervixes” for Save The Hooch campaign of The Yellow Umbrella Organization.

A group of young adult cancer survivors formed a circle to play drums for two minutes and 27.88 seconds during Camp Mak-A-Dream’s 2011 Teen Camp at Gold Creek Montana.

Jack Butler made a joke about his cancer-related amputation 11 days after he’d had his surgery.

The Association of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Nurses (APHON) invited 300 people across the United States including their members, colleagues, patients and their families to wear "Break Cancer" tattoos. They set the record in recognition of the Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Month.

UCLA Healthy Lives After Cancer, led by Chrystel Murrieta, set a record by getting 49 young adults to say an inspirational message on video to other young adults facing cancer. The video includes a stuffed animal saying an encouraging message, who wasn’t included in the final count.

Mairi W. said, “Cancer sucks” 25 times in 15 seconds.

Mason Kinard trashed “Cancer” 28 times in 30 seconds.

Texas 4000, a group of University of Texas students preparing to cycle 4,000 miles to raise money to battle cancer, rode a trainer bike 31.50 miles in one hour, a new world record. The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute faculty and staff and AYA External Advisory Committee members stood and cheered without interruption in honor of the cancer survivors for one minute and 19.01 seconds.
