We think only a record holder can know what you go through to set a record, so we only let people that
have already set world records downvote other people's records.
What can I do?
Go set a record! If you can think of it, you can set a new world record for it.
Thanks for contributing to the competition Patrick. I think this variation does meet the title but does slightly steer away from the object of the challenge and the consistency of previous attempts. The reason hitting the ball on the tip of the handle is harder is because you have to swing the mallet further and there's a smaller space to land the ball and a small movement means the ball bounces very unpredictably. It's also more difficult to hit the ball as you've done on the top of the mallet head as it's usually slightly tapered but at the same time the bounce area is again much larger. I guess it might be better to label this record as "Alternating Between the tip of a Mallet handle and mallet head".
I just filmed myself doing 16 of these and I'm going to upload it soon but, I was wondering if my technique was "acceptable". The concept of alternating the head and handle was respected but, instead of swinging the mallet side to side like this, I did it from front to back (with the mallet head at the top)
