Art Hoffman successfully sent a green slinky down 13 steps. He set the record to celebrate RecordSetter World Record Day.

#WorldRecordDay2012

I think it adds difficulty being that it's hard to find a green slinky. Most colored slinkies are plastic and don't make for the quality of a metal slinky. I guess you could say plastic slinkies have their ups and downs! (badum tss!)

I could go either way on this - keep as is or deny it. Dan seems cool with the green slinky title - but tell you what: I will search out a greater number of steps and will re-submit with 15. Now I know why the number 13 is bad luck :-)

Hey Art. I think changing the criteria to being a green slinky doesn't make for a quality record. The slinky being green does nothing to increase or change the difficulty of the record. I would vote to deny the record based on the fact that it's 14 somewhere else, in the name of keeping up the quality on our site. Let me know your thoughts.

    Done!

Leave it to Dan to find another attempt bettering mine. Who knew that anyone else even had a slinky? Think I have a way to remedy this and - even better - we can keep it as a World Record Day record. Let's change the title to "Most Steps Descended by a Green Slinky" (competitor's was brown and metallic in color). That way the 13 can stand. Should we just amend the title?

Love the category, but here's evidence of longer. 14 steps.
