About

Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia / September 16, 2026

Michael Parkin of Hervey Bay, Australia, turned the Princess's Secret Slide, a bonus slide hidden inside Peach's Castle in the 1996 Nintendo 64 game Super Mario 64, into an endurance test by keeping Mario sliding for 9 minutes and 16.6 seconds before he reached the bottom. The game rewards a run under 21 seconds with a second star, so Michael went the other way. His screen recording opens at the foot of the slide with the game's own timer frozen at 9 minutes 16.6 seconds, then shows Mario hopping up to the box, grabbing the star and landing back in the castle lobby. Michael calls it easy to beat, but keeping Mario on the move for that long takes real patience.
