About

Beihu-Chenzhou-Hunan, SAR, China / October 24, 2026

Yanhao Deng of Chenzhou, Hunan, held a D battery upright by its top end with a round magnet ball clinging to the rim underneath and a second D battery hanging from the ball by magnetism alone. With a smartwatch stopwatch started from zero on camera beside the batteries, Yanhao keeps the ball circling the rim so the lower battery swings around beneath it without a finger ever touching it. RecordSetter went through the unedited video frame by frame and counted 13 full rotations before the stopwatch reaches 10 seconds, matching Yanhao's count. One magnet ball, two batteries and nothing else holding them together.

Rules

- Use one magnet ball and two standard D batteries
- Hold the top battery in one hand, with the magnet ball attached to the rim of its lower end
- The bottom battery must hang from the magnet ball by magnetism alone, with no hand, finger or other support touching it
- One rotation counts each time the magnet ball travels once all the way around the rim of the top battery
- The magnet ball must stay attached to both batteries throughout; if the bottom battery falls, the count stops there
- Time ten seconds on a stopwatch that starts from zero on camera and stays visible throughout; only rotations completed within the ten seconds count
- Continuous, unedited video with the hand, both batteries, the magnet ball and the stopwatch in view
