Tajik-Russian poet Daler Rakhmatullo wove 1,490 verses from the Quran, Islam's central religious text, into a collection of 54 original poetry books published in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 2015. Each verse is cited by surah (chapter) and verse number directly within the text. Rakhmatullo developed a bracket notation system to visually distinguish the sacred Quranic passages from his own poetic commentary, a technique he describes as the first of its kind in Islamic poetry. The books span 1,365 verses in Tajik and 125 in Russian, and each volume carries its own ISBN and is deposited in the Russian State Library in Moscow.
