Art Hoffman ripped 22 cigarettes in half.
most, YAA, Break Cancer, cancer, breaking, tobacco, cigarettes
Not surprisingly, I agree with Dan's take here. Both and he and I used cigarettes which were not purchased in order for the record to be undertaken - they already were available. To underscore our point (and to address Andrew's possible misgivings) why not challenge folks going forward to only use packs that their friends and family donate as a statement that they are quitting smoking and want the smokes gone, broken in half, jigsawed, whatever. What better testimonial to the underlying premise of this record - that smoking is unhealthy and we ought to assist smoking cessation efforts in whatever form they take. As Simon said 5 months ago, "say no to cancer sticks".
Andrew The cigarettes I used were an open pack someone had left at a party. Art used, at least in his first attempt, an old pack he'd kept as an antique. I certainly don't hope people buy cigarettes just to beat this feat.
thanks to this record, 3 packs of cigarettes have been purchased. tobacco companies must want this record to keep getting broken
Nice Job Dan And Art
Say no to cancer sticks!
Hope this record keeps going
Rob wouldn't believe me that you werent' from the south. i guessed ny
Simon - thanks for asking. Originally from Chicago, but have lived all over the U.S.. Gotta admit that ending up in KY is deliciously ironic given my background in fighting Big Tobacco. Always have to watch my back here. Been enjoying all your records too - you're an "out there" kind of guy too.
Art Hoffman - Where are you from originally and how did you end up in Kentucky?
What a ripper!
Man you really smoked that record Dan!
haha Simon. Sorry Rob but it's true :) ... suck on that Rob
If we had a leaderboard of best comments, Peter and I would be at the top. Rob would be at the bottom.
This is sich a gerette idea...
Taking a trip tobackin time.
Did I inspire this new record attempt, Dan? LOL - Anyways, it will be very interesting to see how far this record will go, could get exspensive to break?
You did it in the nic-o-time
