This record was set at the Phillips Middle School track in Chapel Hill, NC in the United States. Track is the standard competitive distance of 400 meters or 1,320 feet. Four laps were done independently with zero assistance and the distance of 1,600 meters (5,280 feet) was covered entirely on foot as per required while wearing the 100# pack. Pack was weighed prior to and after record was set, weighing in at 104 pounds. Two independent witnesses observed the record being broken and time was kept by two separate time keepers.
