Lloyd Weema rode a 49-cc Verona scooter from Portland, Oregon to Los Angeles, California, a total of 1,177 miles.

Texas 4000, a group of University of Texas students preparing to cycle 4,000 miles to raise money to battle cancer, rode a trainer bike 31.50 miles in one hour, a new world record. Texas 4000 set the record during URDB’sBreakCancer party at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. Darryl Learie video taped an entire bike ride that lasted four hours and one minute.

Kenny Lewis whistled for 44.95 seconds while riding his bicycle though Death Valley. His tune of choice was Walking In The Air, the theme from the 1982 animated film of Raymond Briggs’ 1978 children’s book The Snowman[]. Lewis took the ride to raise money for WaterAid.

28 people from 2011 LIVESTRONG Texas 4000 Team lifted their bikes up and said “Break Cancer” following a 40-mile ride.

Emcee Dave Thompson and 189 attendees of the Racecourse Road Carnival Day held in Brisbane, Australia rode “air horses.”

A total of 200 people rode "air-horses" at once. The record was organized by CentraState Healthcare System in partnership with Open Space Pace during their annual parade and festival to promote healthy living and fitness combined with Open Space Pace's passion for horses.

Doctors Ben Clarke and Gihan Ganeshanantham traveled across the European continent by tandem bicycling in 57 days, eight hours and 54 minutes. They started from North Cape in Norway and rode to Tarifa in Southern Spain. They rode a total of 6,918.1 kilometers (4298.7 miles). The doctors set the record to raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, an organization dedicated to provide world-class care for cancer patients. Learn more about the feat here.
