In homage to his love of food, Colin Nissan sets a new universal
record by opening a can of Campbell’s Alphabet Soup and spelling out
‘PANTYHOSE’ in one minute, 25.77 seconds.
Nissan set the record on January 7, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation
Society event in New York City. He opened a standard size (10.5 ounces)
pop top lid can, strained the letters, and then spelled out ‘PANTYHOSE’
using letters from the soup. Ronnie Gensler and Nicholas Fritzhand were
present to document the achievement and confirm proper spelling.
Rowan C. recited 106 four-letter words in one minute.
Sam W. scored 144 points after placing one tile during a game of Scrabble.
Karan T. recited the alphabet backwards in 2.17 seconds.
Doron T. posted 40 consecutive tweets using every letter of the English alphabet.

Lucy Smith and Sophia Lipkin ink stamp the entire English alphabet
in one minute and 56.32 seconds, a new world record. The letters were
stamped in alphabetical order.
The girls performed the feat on April 4, 2009 at the first annual
Brooklyn World Record Day in Brooklyn, New York. The event was held by
URDB in conjunction with Beam Camp. Dan Rollman was present as a
Jonathan S. spelled Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious in 3.18 seconds.
Keven Intravaia stacked 57 Scrabble tiles in one minute.
Laura All spelled 43 words using the letters in ‘SAUCONY ORIGINALS’ in
one minute, a world record. One-letter words weren’t accepted, but
two-letter words were OK. She wasn’t allowed to read words from a

Adam Pollock spelled out “I (Heart) PICKLED HERRING” with pickled
herring and ate it in three minutes, 33.81 seconds. Timing began when he
started spelling, and stopped when he’d finished eating. Herring for the
record was donated by Russ amp; Daughters.
Pollock achieved the feat on August 12, 2009 at a World Record
Appreciation society event in New York City. Dan Rollman and Corey
Henderson were present as witnesses.
