Craft World Records

Using two-ply Lamb’s Pride Bulky wool, Carrie Melago crocheted a doily measuring 5’ in diameter in one hour. Melago set the set the record during a World Record Appreciation Society[] event at Pianos in New York City. Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson were present to witness and measure the feat. #WRAS10

Divya Prakash Pandey was admitted to the Craft and Design Program at the School of Engineering and Technology of Indira Gandhi National Open University[] at the age of six. Pandey has had a keen interest in pottery since childhood. He has achieved remarkable results during his course by recreating the famous magic trick "Water of India", designing different patterns and creating innovative ideas.

Smt. Kamala Prasad Rao made 365 handcrafted items in one year. The items were made out of waste materials such as broken bangles, feather, saw dust, chalk powder, etc. Her other exhibitions include paintings and embroidered products.

James Anderson created an origami magic ball that is 50 square centimeters (5 cm x 10 cm) in size with over 300 folds.

Yogesh Barnela made a spinning wheel measuring six millimeters length,seven millimeters width, 5.5 millimeters height and weighs 60 milligrams using matchstick, broomstick, steel wire, plastic wire, and thread. He took four days to create this spinning wheel.

A student from Chinmaya Matriculation School in Coimbatore, India made 118 paper bags in one sitting.
