That's not true. It is possible to shoot HD video at 60 frames per second. This is just taking that same process and rendering each frame individually. Entirely possible.
As I do see your point, I also notice how this could get out of hand quickly. Judging from the previous attempts, the difficulty of this record comes from the 1x2 horizontal format.
Every record attempt has used a 1x2 horizontal stack of TNT in a mountain. However, this attempt uses a 1x5 horizontal stack of TNT. Personally, I believe these record attempts should be carried out in the same fashion as those proceeding it. Thoughts?
I guess if you think about it, then it could be considered "weird". I consider it cool that it can break the bounds of existing standards. Oh, the joys of technological advancement! :)
