Hard to tell 100% if it's the same jar, but it appears to me. The ornate element is on the base, which we don't see in the video.

Re: jar. While this does appear to look more like a glass than a jar, to me, it's the dimensions that are most important.

@Tom What's the depth of your jar? We can add those measurements (diameter and depth) to the criteria.

So many people are angry right now!!!! But that's fine because those are the people who can't catch or throw an egg 85 yards. Nowhere does it say 1 hand. It's the same glass! You want a side view??? No ones paying me to do this. I just happen to be 1/2 of an egg throwing superpower!!! Haha. But seriously. Check the definition of jar. Either way, a jar would be WAY easier than the glass we used....ours has a curved bottom. Be mad about it but it happened my friend

does that look like the same glass? The one in the picture looks ornate doesnt it? The one in the attempt looks smooth sided. maybe its just me but id like others opinions. Also it says in the record a jar. It does not mean a glass. also it should be stipulated that you have to use one hand to catch the egg. To some it may look like your helping the egg into the glass. just my opinion.

I measured it. It's exactly a 3 in diameter. If you need a picture I took one. I'd just need an email

    Tom Oppelt

Yea. We beat the stride record. Theyve yet to accept it but it's coming

  • response to this attempt +1 Tom Oppelt

    Tom Oppelt

Absolutely. I'll do it when I get home. I'll measure the depth too because part of the challenge is keeping it in and it it's 3 inches wide but 12 deep that would be easier. Thoughts?

@Tom and @Schuyler -- To me, the most important thing is the size of the jar's mouth. I think we should institute a rule on maximum diameter. Tom, will you measure yours and post?

  • response to this attempt +1 Tom Oppelt

    Tom Oppelt

i had to go to the dictionary on this one.... jar - a broad-mouthed container, usually cylindrical and of glass or earthenware i feel like that sums it up for you... and if not, i'll gladly use a much larger jar, like the first guy... it would only make it easier

hate to be debbie downer here - but that looks more like a glass than a jar. judges?

The amazing thing about this record is that the fourth egg thrown did not break when it hit the grass allowing me to give them the egg back for the last throw.

This is a magnificent record. Turning this in to its own category since it is different from Andy Pelphry's: http://urdb.org/world-record/farthest-distance-toss-an-egg-into-glass-jar/7511
