Why does he hold up 2 fingers sideways at then end of their second song on Jimmy Fallon's show?

Darryl I have to agree with brian I saw

  • Canada Dan Rollman

You is crazy, Ben! This would make a great documentary.

  • United States Jack McGill

    Amazing patience Darryl.

Finally Verifed - My 12th Verified Record on URDB - :D

Actually when I did the 'unprovable' 2 hour record, I did have an anolog clock beside me - I like the idea of speeding up the end-product some. On my next attempt I'll make sure I have the camera closer too.

Maybe next time have an analog clock visible in the background and only upload a 5 min fast forward version or highlights and keep the full tape for future validation or if refuted. Also try and get closer to the nose so it can be better checked

  • Canada Darryl Learie

Yeah, your right Peter about the level difficulty - approaching 2 hours, head-aches start happening, and for hours after my nose was sore - and I used to work as a clown standing and waving at cars for 2 hours at a time for 12 hour shifts (this is much harder).

But too, things go wrong when breaking records, but at least I know in my mind, "yeah, I can do 2 hours," I have a higher mental limit to function from for my next attempt - not to scare anyone away from this (but after 90 minutes you realize your suffering) :D

It also happened with the table tennis blowing record. I got a really good run and in my elation pressed "stop" on the camera but in fact hadn't started recording in the first place. So then I had to try another handful of times and don't think I matched my previous effort.

It becomes very difficult when it comes to the longer records... how to record, store and provide evidence substantial enough in this format. You might need to go onto live streaming such as ustream, justin.tv, livestream or blip.tv and then record it straight to there and link to it that way. I don't usually put it in my videos but it's the nature of record setting, sometimes you don't get the shot so it's in vain. Watch the last 5 seconds of my latest record, I put an out take from a previous attempt - the camera fell off the tripod as I was filming so I had to retry :) http://urdb.org/world-record/books-held-aloft-while-rola-bola

So I broke this record holding my nose to the door frame for 2 hours straight, then find out after my pc ran out of disk space and only saved the first 43 minutes - sigh. But I am willing to go again -> somebody please give me some competition. ;)

Thanks so much Peter for taking an hour out of your busy schedule to review this record of mine - I really apreciate that - I am most impressed that you manage this site, review records, and still have time to hold so many records of your own - over-all, that's amazing!

  • Australia Peter Craig

haha 49:00 - "I bet some poor guy's probably thinking I'm going to do this for 30 minutes and I'll get this record" and it will have all been in vain :) and the closing comments? "I think that should be alright for now..." FOR NOW? :) Keep it up Darryl. Rightfully yours, no foul play from what I saw.

  • Australia Peter Craig

Wow, and the entire clip is available to watch in real time so everyone can join in on the action! You're right - anyone can do this, but when it gets this long, it's far from easy... it would have been great to have seen it much closer. I have to say it sucks for the guy that lost out to a whole 25 minutes, and even 10 and 15. Hope this category continues to grow!

  • Canada Darryl Learie

Thanks Brian, what I like most about this particular record is that anyone can do it - it's just a matter of how much they want it, you know. :D

  • United States Brian Pankey

I like it Darryl. it show you have patience.

  • Canada Darryl Learie

I know this will be a most boring video to review, my deepest appreciation to the moderators who take the time to review it. ;)

  • Canada Darryl Learie

I did 1 hour, 9 minutes standing on this record, but its still pending :( Once verified I would love to take this to 3 to 5 hours.

  • Canada Darryl Learie

This is one of those records I would just love to own, can't wait untill my first pending goes through - then I can really prepare myself.

  • United States Rob Birdsong

Your're absolutely right Richmond, thanks! We changed the timing.

  • United States Richmond Bramblet

So, I know Sam and I watched this entire video (thanks Dan for the commentary). However, I went back and re-timed it, if he puts his nose on the doorframe at the 0:18 mark and then takes it off at the 6:02 mark, wouldn't that be 5:44.?? Not complaining, just want Sam to get his fair shake :)

  • United States Mick Cullen

Nice job, Sam! You might want to correct the time displayed up there, though, guys! :)
