Largest Simultaneous Flash Mob

Hollywood, California, United States / April 21, 2012

Alfonso Ribeiro led thousands of people in Universal CityWalk in Hollywood in performing the Carlton Dance. The flash mob included 6,601 dancers performing simultaneously in over 300 cities across the United States and Canada.

They set the record to promote the Body by Vi Challenge, America's fastest growing weight loss and fitness challenge. Read more about the feat here.

- dancers must perform a synchronized choreographed dance lasting at least three minutes
- dance must be performed in a public space
- dance must be performed at exactly the same time in more than one city
- a flash mob is defined as dancers appearing suddenly at the start of the dance and dispersing immediately without cheering or lingering after the conclusion of the dance
- must provide video evidence
