About

Milan, Italy / November 7, 2026

Milan author and longtime teacher Sergio Roedner revised Il libro dei 1000 limerick for its November 2026 edition, replacing a long run of repeated poems from earlier drafts with nearly 300 new ones. His Italian limericks travel from a braying mayor in Zoagli to a prelate whose cassock catches the wind while paragliding over Schio. RecordSetter compared the full text of all 1,000 numbered entries and counted 952 different limericks of his own, counting revised repeats once and leaving out the Edward Lear and Gianni Rodari poems he quotes and two pieces he marks as not limericks.
