About

La Grange, Illinois, United States / September 16, 2026

Hugo VanEvery snapped the fingers of his left hand 16 times in seven seconds while his right hand kept making the same snapping motion without letting a snap ring out, a brain-teasing coordination trick he filmed at his desk in a classroom in La Grange, Illinois. RecordSetter counted the snaps on the audio of his continuous, unedited clip, crediting only the ones that ring out clearly, and all 16 land inside the seven-second window. Try it yourself: getting one hand to snap while the other deliberately fizzles is harder than it sounds.

Rules

- Snap the fingers of the left hand as many times as possible within seven consecutive seconds
- For the whole attempt, the right hand keeps making the snapping motion without producing a snap; a snap that rings out from the right hand does not count
- Only clearly audible left-hand snaps count
- Film close enough that both hands and the sound of the snaps are captured
- Time the attempt with a timer visible on camera, or film one continuous clip and count seven seconds of its running time
- Continuous, unedited video at normal speed with the original audio
