STONEHENGE CANADA

Indian River Reptile zoo has set the world record for the largest and heaviest circle of megalithic standing stones. Not one but two large works consisting of 75 solid Belmont Rose pink granite blocks that individually weigh from 600 pounds up to 4 tons (8000lbs). Total weight of all stone in both circles is 100,000 pounds (50tons).Individual stones reach above the ground as high as ten feet. The stone arches are 8 feet tall and weigh in at about 3 tons.

Circle #1 is actually two circles. The inner consists of 24 large standing stone and two arches with an otter circle of 26 smaller stones and a total circumference of 250 feet . In the centre is a large stone (2tons ) with a natural carved bench that is placed strategically in front of the center fire pit.

Circle #2 is 300 ft in circumference and consists of one stone arch and 25 large quarry stones standing majestically.

This megalithic work was created by sculptor, Edward k Loyst on Indian River Reptile Zoo property owned by Bry Loyst.
