Percussion World Records  

Nate and 35 other people at Lake Merritt in Oakland, California played mason jars as percussion instruments.

At the Zappos.com Bay to Breakers road race in San Francisco, California, 30 people set a world record for Largest Rice-a-Roni Percussion Group. The record was one of 40 set that day, allowing the race to set an additional record for “Most World Records Set at a Road Race.” See all 40 records at RecordSetter.com/Zappos.

Carlos Santos performed a double stroke drum roll that lasted 19 hours, 28 minutes, and 25.00 seconds. He set the record to support positive parenthood and raise awareness of the rights of parents and children. The event was supported by The Castelo Branco Forum, Rock Academy School, and Beat Parental Alienation, an international musical initiative against parental alienation.

Carlos Santos played the drums for over 132 hours (7,978 minutes). Santos set the record to raise awareness and support for positive parenthood and against parental alienation. See entire attempt here.

This record was set as part of Prius Records, a two-day event streamed live on the Internet. In a 48-hour period, URDB officials adjudicated 200 Prius-related world records. This was the most records ever documented in a 48-hour window, a world record in and of itself. The event took place in Los Angeles, California on March 30th and 31st, 2011.
