Mac Lipscomb, Brian Cohen, and JB Lockhart listened to 24 elevator pitches in five minutes. This beat the previous record by three pitches. The record was set as part of New York Entrepreneur Week.

Craig Morrison and Sam Stilson of The Record Collection each fit 21 pounds of potatoes in their pants in one minute. They competed to see who could fit the most potatoes by weight, but ended up tying. The pre-record weight of Craig Morrison was 160 pounds, while Sam Stilson weighed 191.5 lbs.At the weigh-in afterwards, Craig weighed 181 pounds and Sam weighed 212.5 pounds. The record was set at a St. Patrick’s-themed World Record Appreciation Society[] event held at Joe’s Pub in New York City. Dan Tsiakos makes yo-yo history by completing eight Hidemasa Hooks in a row, a new world record. He achieved the feat on August 9, 2008 at the International Yo-Yo Open[] in New York City. Tsiakos used a One Drop MarkMont yo-yo, concave bearings and a standard length, purple Alchemy string. Dan Rollman and Faisal Ansari witnessed the record. #YOYO01

Demonstrating tremendous tongue muscle control, Sarah Reed created an unprecedented five wrinkles in her tongue, a new universal record. ‘Tongue wrinkle’ is defined as a natural, u-shaped indentation along the edge of one’s tongue. Reed performed the feat at the Burning Man festival in Black Rock City, Nevada on August 29, 2008. Playa Book of Records executive members Dan Rollman and Steve Payonzeck were present to count the wrinkles and document the record. #BM2008
