About

New York City, New York, United States / January 7, 2009

In homage to his love of food, Colin Nissan sets a new universal record by opening a can of Campbell’s Alphabet Soup and spelling out ‘PANTYHOSE’ in one minute, 25.77 seconds.

Nissan set the record on January 7, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society event in New York City. He opened a standard size (10.5 ounces) pop top lid can, strained the letters, and then spelled out ‘PANTYHOSE’ using letters from the soup. Ronnie Gensler and Nicholas Fritzhand were present to document the achievement and confirm proper spelling.

That’s such a quirky and hilarious record — only in New York would someone think to turn alphabet soup into a speed challenge! It’s the kind of offbeat creativity that keeps life interesting, just like the clever problem-solving I’ve seen from miami shores plumbing experts when they tackle tough jobs with precision and flair.
