We think only a record holder can know what you go through to set a record, so we only let people that
have already set world records downvote other people's records.
What can I do?
Go set a record! If you can think of it, you can set a new world record for it.
Thanks Brian, and thanks Mick for the idea, the record was fun and challenging. Unfortunately previous attempts were better than the individual records listed here (166 zips in 30 seconds, 23 secs shaving mustache, 97 tape wraps around hand in 30 seconds, 12 secs to pop balloon, drink drank in 1.9 seconds, Liverpool written 18 times, 18 hearts inside each other, 1,006 mouse clicks in 30 seconds (a PB!)) but will have to redo them as they would invalidate these ones - and hey, that's the nature of this record that it makes it that much harder to perform the records on first attempt. Also, this list only has 13 records, it does not include the record itself "Most URDB World Records Broken In 10 Minutes" which was also broken, ie the 14th record. There were also a few other records lined up but not enough time to perform.
Oh my goodness, you would not believe... I love this record so went for it. I beat it BUT my wife cut the video in the middle, I hadn't told her it needed to be continuous.
Take two: I beat it, but at about 7 minutes the power cord accidentally pulled out GAH! One record was fastest mustache shave... so...
Take three: I beat it and will now verify but I did it with no mustache and obviously couldn't do that record again so had time to spare... oh well great record, loved it. Great idea, look forward to seeing other ideas you can come up with, was a lot of fun.
Yes I agree with the criteria and like the flexibility that it's only records you currently do not hold, but is good to have the restrictions as you say the loophole makes it too easy to manipulate. I also like the criteria that it has to records taken from only one person, otherwise you can cover a whole category by the same person, covers more ground.
I love this record and your effort is notable, but I can't help myself but to try and beat it, I have 30 records lined up but they don't meet the criteria so have culled it back to 20 (plus this one if I can beat it!), whether they can all be broken on first attempts and within 10 minutes is yet to be seen but love the concept of the challenge and look forward to giving it a go!
Hey Peter. You can't beat any records you currently hold. Records you started or previously held but do not currently hold are acceptable. I made that stipulation because otherwise, someone could set a whole series of silly, ironic records and then break all of those in ten minutes rather easily (e.g., most strawberries eaten while wearing Grouch Marx glasses in one minute-- eating one strawberry to set the record and then eating two to break it...not really in the spirit of the record). And you're absolutely right about the record increasing in twos (at least), which I think is a neat quality.
Just clarifying the criteria: "Can't beat own records" does this mean records you have previously contributed to or just ones that you have started?
This record will increase in twos as beating this record in itself would be added to the count, ie you need to beat this record for it to be a record and in doing so you beat another record, then the criteria states you can't beat it because it's your own record - is this record excluded?

If I break 14 records in ten minute, would it count as 15 by adding this record... or would i have to break 15 records not including this one???
