Washington , District of Columbia, United States / May 26, 2009

Brian Peterkin-Vertanesian grew a 6 3/8 inch eyebrow hair on his left eyebrow, a new world record. He spent years working on the record, even trimming his eyebrows at one point so the hair would grow back stronger and longer.

This eyebrow hair was documented and measured on May 26, 2009 in Washington D.C. Jim Graham was present as a witness.

Small consolation! I think this is a record that does not really require male and female recordholders. One record for the collective human race seems plenty!

  • Well, if the category is Male Eyebrow Hair, then this record is not broken.

Brian, we'd still love a photo of your eyebrow hair if possible. We've changed your record status to Broken based on your news of Kawakami's hair. Please keep us updated if yours grows beyond 7.01 inches, and best of luck with your mission.

My lovely bride fully supports my ongoing efforts! The general silliness is fun for her, too.

  • What does your significant other think of this "achievement"?

Well, the good folks at Guinness World Records have informed my that I did not achieve world record status. The previous record holder, Toshie Kawakami of Japan, beat her old record and my latest attempt with her own 7.01-inch hair. I'll keep trying to catch and surpass her!

  • Note: We had to take the photo down temporarily. A new one will be posted shortly.

My official measurement of a 6.375 inch eyebrow hair on May 26, 2009, will lay to rest all other claims once Guinness World Records verifies my claim.

  • I don't know what to rate it.

    Where's photographic evidence?
