Country World Records

Phil Billingham, Shannon Currie, Duncan Mackenzie, and Gerry Mulligan traveled to 18 countries in 24 hours. They visited Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Germany, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, France, Luxemburg, Belgium, and Holland. Doron T. named countries beginning with every letter but “X” in 5.00 seconds. He performed the feat in alphabetical order.

Martin recited all 50 United States alphabetically while riding on a pogo stick in 20.91 seconds.

In a feat that took almost 20 years to accomplish, former Wisconsin senator Dave Zien put a world record 1,000,000 miles on his Harley Davidson FXR motorcycle. Zien began the journey in 1991. Marc and Lucas crossed Honduras by motorcycle in 4 hours and 55 minutes. They began in El Amatillo at the El Salvador border, and exited to Nicaragua through the town of at El Espino. The clock stopped when they reached the border. See their route here. Marc and Lucas set the record on November 8, 2008. Marc rode a BMW 1150GS[] and Lucas was on a KTM 990.

Matt Piper, Gareth Jones, and Lloyd Jones set off from London (England) and drove to Cardiff (Wales), Dublin (Ireland), Belfast (Northern Ireland) and finally Edinburgh (Scotland) in 23 hours and 10 minutes, a new world record. This feat was achieved on April 3, 2009. Piper, Jones, and Jones took the drive as a fundraiser for the British Red Cross on behalf of their organization, Wendy’s Appeal. Doron T. named every country of the world in one minute, 0.66 second. The countries he named were ones that existed in 1998.

134 people played lagerphones at the same time, a world record. The record was set in Australia at a festival celebrating 150 years of Queensland. Read more about the event here.

Mallory Wolchuk greeted 501 visitors at the border entrance to Nova Scotia[]playing thebagpipes. Her father Doug McManaman was on hand to count the visitors and shoot the video evidence.

Record Setter named the capitals of 195 sovereign countries and 20 of the non-sovereign states and regions while blindfolded.

Adam Leyton visited Germany, Luxembourg, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Austria in 24 hours. He used a combination of buses, trains, planes and a few KM running to complete his challenge. Learn more about the feat here.

James Asquith visited all 196 countries in the world at the young age of 24. He was born on December 30, 1988. He started traveling five years ago when he was still a student at a university. Asquith likes meeting new people and going to unusual places off the traditional tourist trails. Amongst his favorite places to visit are Iran and the United States.

Mick Cullen read the names of 56 countries aloud in 16.55 seconds.
