World records set by the Livestrong community as part of the Young Adult Alliance's Break Cancer program.
Chris Carraba of Dashboard Confessional performed a concert on top
of Pikes Peak Mountain in Colorado at 14,111 feet above sea level.
The concert was performed to raise funds for The Love Hope Strength
In Celebration of Australia’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 95 sets
of balloons were put together to represent as “pink boobs.” The feat was
set by the Chicks In Pink charity in coordination with Racecourse
Members of the Young Adult Oncology Group pulled a plane 15 feet in
5.19 seconds. They performed this feat to raise money for cancer
Mel Sampson and 514 other people participated in the CIBC Run for the
Cure. They exercised to raise breast cancer awareness.
A group of 120 people composed of patients, survivors, caregivers,
advocates, navigators, healthcare professionals and attorneys gathered
together to learn about cancer rights. The rights discussed include
Employment amp; Taking Time Off Work, Health, Disability and Life
Insurance Options, Access to Health Care, Insurance Navigation and
Appeals, Understanding Health Care Reform, Cancer Community Resources,
Genetics amp; the Law, Legislative Advocacy, Education Rights of
Children and Young Adults with Cancer, and Financial Planning.
301 people came together on the Southern Utah University
Thunderbirds football field to honor cancer survivors and Break
Cancer. They were participating inThe Iron County American Cancer
Society Relay for Life.
Seven people joined together and danced while wearing "F
Cancer"shirts. The man in the plaid shirt was not counted.
48 members of Texas 4000 donned fake mustaches and danced in a
conga line. Each mustache was made using Break Cancer stickers.
Seven people finished the 2010 San Antonio Rock & Roll Full &
Half-Marathon said “Break cancer!” after their completion of the
60 riders in the Texas 4000stood in a circle and made individual
dedications before lining up and forming a can-can line. They set
the record before heading out on a bicycle ride.
Shirley LaVergne balanced six cancer-related books on her head.
As part of a LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance project, the hashtag
[#BreakCancer] was tweeted 681 times during a 24-hour period.
The count of 681 was taken using Twitter’s Advanced Search,
tracking the hashtag #BreakCancer between 8:36 pm on November 11, 2010
and 8:36 pm on November 12, 2010.
Radio Shack donated 100 video cameras to the Livestrong Young Adult
Alliance to raise awareness for young adult cancer.
On November 24, 2010, Lorna Larsen, president of Team Shan,
presented to 450 students at the University of Western Ontario.
Following the lecture, she inspired the entire room to say, “Team Shan
Breast Cancer Awareness for Young Women” at the same time.
23 people gathered on November 15, 2010 to discuss adolescent and young
adult cancer patients and families in and around Portland, Oregon. At
the end of the meeting everyone said“Rompe el cancer” at once.
