Life Jacket World Records

During the sixth annual "Ready, Set, Wear It!" campaign, 10,917 people gathered at 257 events to set a world record for the largest group of people to wear life jackets. The event was hosted by the National Safe Boating Council in partnership with Canadian Safe Boating Council. They set the record to promote safe and responsible boating for National Safe Boating Week and throughout the boating season. See photos of the events here. Eric, a member of Synergy Youth Ministry, ran around a tent nine times in 30 seconds while wearing a life jacket.

Spanish BMX rider Jose Manuel Martin Molina turned a niche balance challenge into a 60-jump mark, bouncing through back wheel pogo jumps on a BMX bike for 15 seconds while wearing a lifejacket in Ayamonte. The record combines BMX control with a deliberately odd constraint: the front wheel stays up, the lifejacket stays on, and every counted hop has to land cleanly on the back wheel.
