- missed shots are not counted but are permissible in between shots
- only one person may attempt the record
- trash ball must be comprised of 2 sheets of crumpled newspaper, wrapped in a standard plastic shopping bag, shaped like a ball and sealed with two 18-inch pieces of clear packing tape
